Schott & Meissner has successfully completed an international project in the technical nonwovens sector by integrating its THERMOFIX® TFE Flatbed Laminator into the existing production line at Airlite Nonwovens (Marves Industries, USA).
Customized Solution for Existing Lines
Airlite Nonwovens specializes in technical nonwovens for protective packaging, as well as acoustic and insulation applications. The site already operates a Schott & Meissner TopConLP Double Belt Air-Through oven, highlighting the long-standing collaboration and proven technology between the two companies.
The goal was to implement a compact, energy-efficient and highly precise laminating solution that could be seamlessly integrated into the current production line without major modifications. The fully electric THERMOFIX® TFE system delivers exactly that, offering uniform pressure and temperature distribution along with exceptional versatility for laminating, densifying, and bonding of nonwovens.
Thanks to its modular design and high energy efficiency, the system was integrated with minimal downtime, enabling a fast production start and allowing Airlite Nonwovens to increase overall capacity through the new laminating system.
