Steam Oven
The Steam Oven is used for Nonwoven Bonding using phenolic powder either for semi-curing or to assist the fully cured process.
The steam flows through the fibre mat and the thermal energy is used to active the phenolic powder. At the same time the steam fixes the powder onto the fibre; therefore the powder is not blown off by the air stream.
In combination with an Air-through Oven, the steam treatment is used for semi-cured products.
For fully curing, the Steam Oven is followed by a Double Belt Oven with defined adjustment of the gap distance. In this case, the powder is activated by the steam treatment and curing is done by the Double Belt Oven.
